Kaden Matthew Mack spent the day surrounded by his loving parents and siblings who adore him. He passed peacefully into our Father in Heavens arms at 3:50 pm on February 22, 2008. I cannot explain what is feels like to lose a child. My body aches for him, I can feel his little fingers and toes and see his beautiful face. When choosing Kaden's name, we chose the middle name Matthew, because it means "GIFT FROM GOD" We cannot deny that Kaden had been a little gift from God. He has impacted our lives in more ways than we ever thought or dreamed were possible. His death was peaceful. He was taken off of life supports around 1:45 pm. He had little bouts of apnea where he would not breathe. Most of the time however he was breathing. He was making a sound like a baby kitten. Carter said to me "Mom, when he makes that squeeking sound he's really saying LOVE" When Abigail held him and he was squeeking, she said "I can hear it, he's saying I love you." Around 3:15 the children and our parents left and Kaden and Spencer and I were alone. The nurse practioner came in and checked his heart and it was still quite strong, around 100 beats a minute. After she left, I decided I wanted him close to me so I unbuttoned my top buttons and put him right next to my skin. This is when Kaden left us. His little spirit just peacefully slipped away. I new he was gone, his little heart just stopped. Spencer and I love this little man more than we ever dreamed possible. He has come to earth for just only a minute. He has touched many lives and we know he will not be forgotten. Our doctor said to us, "sometimes short lives have larger impacts than long lives". Kaden life was short, but has impacted us all more than we ever expected. We find comfort in knowing he will always be a part of our family and KNOW that we WILL see him again!!!! THANK YOU LITTLE KADEN!!
